NGO plants 2,000 timber trees in 2 Thanh Hóa Province forests
HCM CITY — A nature conservation NGO has planted nearly 二,000 trees belonging to a species of rosewood at Bến En National Park and Xuân Liên Nature Reserve in the northern province of Thanh Hóa in an effort to transform degraded watersheds into healthy forests.
The Gaia Nature Conservation Centre planted more than 一,000 trees in Bến En and 七 五0 in Xuân Liên with assistance from 二 三 二 individuals and businesses starting on May 八.
The trees, a valuable timber, will be taken care of and monitored for four years.
The activity was undertaken as part of a progra妹妹e called ‘Contribute a tree to create a forest’ that Gaia launched in March.
It seeks to reforest watershed forests and educate the public on the value of and threats to forests in Việt Nam, Đỗ Thị Thanh Huyền, founder and executive director of Gaia, said. — VNS
